Iconic Tracks in the Movie F1—and Beyond

As one of the newest tracks on the schedule, Vegas’ circuit takes drivers past some of the city’s most iconic hotels and offers spectators a jolt of excitement with its high average speeds. While Vegas played host to two F1 races back in the ’80s, the new circuit made its debut in 2023 as the site of a memorable evening race lit by the city’s sparkling lights. Talk about legendary. The full-throttle course offers plenty of opportunity for drivers to accrue speed, and its bucolic, leafy setting on the outskirts of Milan offers a peaceful contrast to the high-octane action. Made for bold overtaking moves, its tricky turns offer plenty of action for spectators. And with a Ferrari theme park, golf course, mall, and several luxe hotels featuring rooms with trackside views just steps away, it’s a complete vacation destination. While the track largely follows its original 1959 footprint, the treacherous Peralta corner has been bisected and winds through a former baseball stadium, which has views that let you see right into the drivers’ cockpits. The F1 crew had about 15 minutes to shoot Brad Pitt and his APXGP car in parc fermé here with one of the most energetic crowds they encountered. This track is featured in the movie F1.

And the famous Raidillon brings nail-biting tension to every race. Nestled in the Ardennes Forest, it’s a scenic circuit—and the longest in the Formula 1 schedule—that’s beloved by drivers and fans alike. This track is featured in the movie F1.

Because it’s constructed in a natural bowl, spectators also enjoy a great view from almost any seat in the stands. The weather here can be unpredictable, however—the day before the F1 crew began shooting here, they sheltered from hailstones the size of grapes pelting the paddock. With its trio of beloved and feared corners—Maggotts, Becketts, and Chapel—racers give fans a real feast for the eyes on this tricky course. This was the first shooting location for F1, and the garage the production team built there was so realistic that Lewis Hamilton, who is also a producer on the movie, joked it was better than his own. The iconic circuit offers a high-speed challenge with two Degners, its storied 130R turn, snaking S curves, and one very cool crossover. Fans at this track love to gear up in their F1 finest, and there’s even a Ferris wheel on site. What’s not to love? This track is featured in the movie F1.

Named after Enzo Ferrari himself—and his son Dino—and located not far from the carmaker’s headquarters, it offers a counterclockwise thrill ride full of tight corners. In a nearby forest, a statue of Ayrton Senna commemorates the iconic racer, who lost his life at the track during the Formula 1 San Marino Grand Prix 1994.

Since its debut with Formula 1’s very first racing season in 1950, it has seen great triumphs and heartbreaks. Here, the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco’s first British winner, Stirling Moss, was crowned in 1956, Senna and Mansell had their epic showdown in 1992, and Daniel Ricciardo faced a haunting loss after earning pole position in 2016.
